[Workshop] 3 hours · for law firms and in-house legal teams

In one afternoon, your team walks away with an AI use policy ready for approval and three safe ways to work with AI.

Colombian courts are already scrutinizing how lawyers use AI

[01] What has already happened in Colombia

Responsibility still lies with whoever signs the filing, whether a person or a tool drafted it.

Supreme Court · 2026

A lawyer fined

Fined 15 monthly minimum wages (salarios mínimos, Colombia's statutory minimum monthly wage) for citing ten non-existent, AI-generated rulings in an appeal. The Supreme Court of Justice reminded lawyers of their duty to verify every citation (Order AC739-2026).

Supreme Court · 2025

A decision set aside

The Court set aside a lower court's decision that quoted passages that do not exist in the rulings it cited (ruling STC17832-2025).

Rules in force

Transparency and verification

Constitutional Court ruling T-323 of 2024 and Agreement PCSJA24-12243 of the Superior Council of the Judiciary set standards of transparency, accountability and human oversight for the use of AI.

[02] The problem

The risk isn't AI. It's using AI without rules.

  1. 01

    Citations that don't exist

AI tools invent rulings complete with case number, date and judge. If no one checks them, they end up in the court filing.

  2. 02

    Professional secrecy

Pasting a case file into a free account can expose client information. Professional secrecy is a legal duty for every lawyer (Law 1123 of 2007, Colombia's Lawyers' Disciplinary Code).

  3. 03

    Personal data

In 2024 the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC, Colombia's data protection authority) set rules for processing personal data in AI systems (External Circular 002).

[03] How the workshop works

By video call, up to 15 people. Before the session, your team answers a six-question form, so the policy arrives already tailored to your firm.

  • 3 hours
  • Video call
  • Up to 15 people
  1. BLOCK 1

    The real risk

Sanctioned cases, the rules in force, professional secrecy and personal data. Exercise: spot the fake citation in a court filing.

  2. BLOCK 2

    Three safe workflows, live

Each participant summarizes a case file without exposing data, drafts a document while verifying every citation, and reviews contract clauses, using fictitious cases from their own practice area.

  3. BLOCK 3

    Your firm's policy

We go through it rule by rule and decide which tools are allowed and who is accountable. It leaves ready for approval.

[04] Who it's for

Teams that already use AI and don't want to rely on luck

  • 01Law firms of 5 to 50 lawyers
  • 02Legal and compliance teams at fintechs and insurtechs
  • 03Insurance brokers and companies with regulated clients

No technical background needed. Each participant works with the AI tool they already use.

[07] Frequently asked questions

Before you book

No. It's a training workshop: your team leaves with a policy and three workflows. It is not an audit or an ISO/IEC 42001 certification, and it does not guarantee regulatory compliance.

No. Every exercise uses fictitious cases from your practice area. We never ask for real client information.

The one your team already uses. During the session, you decide which tools are allowed and with what type of account.

By payment link (card, PSE, Colombia's online bank transfer system, or Nequi, a mobile wallet) or by bank transfer. We issue an electronic invoice (factura electrónica) to your organization.

I ask how your team uses AI today and what concerns you. If the workshop isn't right for you, I'll tell you on that same call.
